Avox 1000E Proficiency Samples with RALS Interface

Recently, my hospital interfaced the Avoximeter 1000E to our LIS system with RALS being used as the middleware.
Every time I run a proficiency sample, it is tagging as a patient. I even listed the proficiency sample as a material in RALS. I enter the "Lot #" (proficiency ID) as the patient ID since there is no where else to enter this information and it is still coming up as a patient. I am thinking maybe it should get run as QC, but CAP surveys are to be run in the same matter as patient specimens.
Is anyone familiar with this process and what I should be doing in order to avoid this?

Currently we have the Avox 1000E and will be switching to the Avox 4000.
We use the RALS middleware system and now use a Cerner system as our EHR.
This is a DOD facility. So for all the years that we have used RALS and no matter what we have done you can't get RALS to recognize a specimen as a proficiency sample. The programming of the Avox is so basic that it doesn't transfer that type of data. The only thing you can do is review the specimen result in RALS by applying the comment that it was a proficiency test.
Even with the 4000 it will be the same thing. The Avox doesn't have a proficiency mode. You can create an encounter in your EHR for the sample then run it with that number but in RALS it will still show as a patient but it will also transfer to the EHR.
We did recently had RALS modify the programming in their system to actually allow us to enter an extra numerical entry along with the encounter number so that we can have the locations make the determination that they are running an Arterial sample or a Venous sample.
