Blood Gas/Chem POC devices
Hey All,
What are your preferences for POC blood gas/chemistry analyzers? How do you manage reduced portability of things like GEMS or ABLs in busy EDs or part of Rapid Responses? Are there handheld options outside of iSTAT or EPOC?

Epic-Beaker Venous Draw Requests for Unsolicited Orders
We are a large hospital system that has been in the process of converting to an Epic-Beaker platform, from a Cerner-Sunquest platform. All interfaced POC tests are structured as unsolicited orders, with Telcor QML as our middleware. Blood Gas syringe Heparin concentration
I work in a pediatric hospital and we are also experiencing the blood gas syringe backorder. We currently use 1 mL syringes with 7 IU/mL of heparin. I am curious what concentration of heparin and what size of syringes other hospitals are using for their blood gas collections.
