Training Vs. Competency for Moderately Complex Testing

So I know that to assess competency for a moderately complex testing you must meet the classification for a technical consultant. If you are only training staff and not assessing competency is there any personnel requirement? Also, if you have a non- 4 year person training (with laboratory experience) but not a technical consultant will assessing competency at the 6 month mark be sufficient?

Said: No, sorry Pam. In more than 20 years we never considered running those tests under POC in our EDs. We first trialed Chem 8 in urgent care settings and decided for ED the chemistries needed to go to lab.

ED "Lab" instrumentation

Do any of your Emergency Departments currently perform CBCs or Chem 12s within the ED itself?
I have been asked to investigate instrumentation for such a scenario.
