We've received a request for point of care PTH testing in surgery.  What instrument is being used for this and would you share your experience(s)?

We use RALS middleware at Norwalk Hospital in CT.  The critical values (high or low) for Glucose flag.  It is my responsibility to evaluate and then upload into the patient's chart.  I was wondering what is the practice at other hospitals?

Is your laboratory responsible for the expenses of Point of Care Middleware or is this a shared expense?
