Does anyone have an IQCP for ACT done on the Medtronic HMS PLUS they would be willing to share?

I am especially interested in the RISK ASSESSMENT.

Thanks!

I am interested in this as well.  If you could share, my email is chuliganga@carondelet.org .  Thank you in advance!

How frequently does everyone run liquid controls on the HMS for the different colored cartridges and the ACT as well?

We currently run them daily, but with the use of the electronic controls, I was considering less often.

Thanks

With each new lot/shipment.

We still run liquid QC weekly (it used to be a Medtronic suggestion, but I think that has been removed) because our perfusionists are used to that schedule.  That's what we state in our IQCP and procedure.

We run liquid QC weekly and new shipment/lot.

Weekly and with new lots

According to Medtronic procedure manual for Medtronic HMS Plus, run

Electronic quality control ONCE per shift (every 8 hrs. of patient testing)

Liquid quality control (two levels of normal and abnormal QC)

1. Every 7 days

2. With each new cartridge lot number, AND

3. With every new shipment of cartridges.

Laboratories may elect to do IQCP (do less QC as stated by the manufacturer).  With IQCP, laboratory must show data that test is stable doing less QC, have a written quality control plan, and show documentation of laboratory director’s approval.
