 Hello colleagues,

This is a duplicate of a (re)post I added to the AACC (free) listserve after it was posted originally on the AACC Artery.

I'd love to know in advance anyone who plans to attend from this POCT Listserv so I am able to look for you in Portland. Hope I get the pleasure!

(Re)post of Kerstin Halverson:

Don't miss this interactive, hands-on event.  From experienced POCT professionals to individuals new to POCT, attendees will gain new insights and expertise at this engaging event. Expert speakers will address and share the unique challenges and requirements of POCT in their own professional careers.

Our 2018 Keynote Speaker is Steve Kazmierczak, PhD, DABCC, FAACC, professor and scientific director, clinical chemistry and toxicology, Oregon Health & Science University, Portland, Oregon. Dr. Kazmierczak will be speaking on Process efficiencies in POC testing; discussing a recently completed a 1 year look-back at how POC testing affected patient outcomes, length to stay, POC errors, etc. The goal of the study, was to establish some bench marks of how POC testing compared to testing performed in a core laboratory and how POC testing affected process efficiencies in patient care.

Learn how to manage and resolve POCT-related issues by participating in group activities intended to instill greater confidence and improve skill sets. Why You Should Attend? Here are just a few of the reasons:

  • Expert advice and tools from point of care testing veterans

  • Interactive problem-solving exercises related to everyday challenges encountered in point of care testing

  • Resource book to use as your on-the-job "go-to" guide
