AccuChek Inform II Issues

Hi all,
My hospital recently switched to the orange topped Sani-Cloth Bleach wipes as the only cleaner on the floors per an order from Infectious Control.
We’re finding that cleaning the glucose meters with these wipes gums them up and causes charging issues when trying to place them on their base. The floors are now coming to us en mass to “troubleshoot” their meters.
Has anyone come across a similar problem? What are your solutions and what do you use to clean your meters?
Our floors aren’t following up with a paper towel to wipe the residue off.

We have always used bleach wipes but not SaniWipes bleach wipes. I believe the brand is Chlorox but that also causes confusion with staff because there are Chorox brand wipes that are not bleach.
Yikes!
Per the Operator's manual for the Accu-chek, we use Super Sani-Cloth Germicidal Disposable Wipes (purple tops) unless the meter was used in an enteric pathogen contact precaution room (then we use the bleach wipe and once dry, wipe again with the germicidal wipe- overkill, but our Infectious disease RN was adamant).
I have not heard of any issues with the contacts on the charge or download bases related to the wipes. I have been having issues with our older base types (the flat contacts vs the protruding ones) not connecting well anymore, but we are replacing all of those in waves anyway (and going wireless for connectivity so the download bases will be fewer).
My concern with only using bleach wipes on EVERYTHING would be does that cause quicker deterioration of instruments (blood pressure cuffs, IV pumps ect)? Our infectious disease RN is right on top of every IFU and we use the Super Sani cloth germicidal wipes unless bleach is required (enteric outbreaks ect).
I hope you find a resolve!
The biggest issue that we have had is that if the liquid is left on the meter for any length of time whether it’s the purple top Sani wipes or Bleach is that they will “burn” the screen, basically the screen starts peeling.
With the “gumming up” could it be that they are over saturating the meter with the cleaning solution?? And not wiping the excess off. I do inform our staff that if there is still moisture left on the meter after the allotted time, they
should take a dry cloth and wipe the meter down, helps preventing the burning and other issues

We experienced the same problem last year when switching to the Sani-Cloth from the Caviwipes.
After disinfecting with the Sani-Cloth wipe the device down with an alcohol wipe. We keep the Accuchek purple carrying case right next to the docking station filled with alcohol preps so staff can wipe the device off. It has worked like a charm.
Good luck!
Inform ll Charging Issue.docx
I have been struggling with the same issue !! M.S. you beat me to the LIST SERV -
Last month I had a ROCHE representative (technical) come to our facility to troubleshoot the issues we been having w/ Inform ll bases (not charging the device).
We use the "orange top" Sani Cloth per our Infectious Preventionist protocol with a dwell time of 4 minutes (which we monitor in RALS that end users adhere to the 4 minutes). He did mention that we are using the incorrect cleaning "wipes". There are no studies to date that attest to using the orange top. Film develops on the charging connections and they need to be cleaned periodically.
Recommendations:
I have fewer issues since I did the retraining w/ staff.
