Strep A testing during pandemic

Hello,
I am looking to see how facilities are handling Strep A testing during the pandemic. I have a doctor inquiring about possible tests that may be able to use buccal swabs as a source. So far all CLIA waived tests I have researched require throat specimens. How is your facility handling Strep A testing?

We have pulled all rapid strep testing from the clinics and are performing them under the BSC hoods in the main laboratory. Still using throat swabs however.
While this would be less invasive and therefore not as uncomfortable as a throat swab. It also would not be as good of a specimen. It would also be against any Strep manufacture recommendations that I have ever seen.
This would make it less sensitive and high complexity testing.
We are still doing the rapid strep testing at our clinics. Up until this month there were tents outside some of the clinics and the staff were collecting the samples outside and testing inside the clinic.
