Bilirubinometers and Lab bilirubin correlation

Hello everyone, would someone be able to provide their experience and knowledge of standards and best practices for bilirubinometers and correlation to Laboratory bilirubin measurements for neonates? I understand transcutaneous bilirubin isn't a POCT per se, however it falls into a gray area if the calibration of the meter is off when compared to capillary collected bilirubin Lab measurements. Thank you in advance.

Timely message. I have just been told that the neonatal intensive care doctors are questioning the accuracy of a new transcutaneous bilirubin system they recently started using. I don't have the details yet but no correlation was done by POCT as it didn't fall under my wheelhouse. That said, it appears that I will need to do some follow-up.
Tom,
I take it you looked back at charts for comparisons. Did you do any draws to coincide with the meter use ?
