PTH In the OR

Happy Friday Guys.   Does any one of you guy run PTH as and POCT? The OR is trying to get decrease TAT for PTH and looking to see if there is a POCT of instruments.  We normally have the results in about 25-30 min.   Reading past posts, it really doesn't seem like there are any.  Some just have an instrument in the OR, but still have a tech run the specimen.

Hi Elliott,
We have a cobas e411 in the OR and our lab techs are running it 2 times a week. We also use future diagnostics at our other institution. TAT for cobas is 13 mins and for Future is 9 mins.

Hey Jenna
Thank you so much. Yes i notice a lot of people are using the E411.  Going to get a quote for that one.  Do you have any information on the Future?

We use the Future Diagnostics test system and the POCT analysts who are Med Techs perform the testing at least twice weekly.  The manufacturer told us they were discontinuing the assay and are developing a POC test that should be classified as moderate complexity that non-laboratory personnel (nurses, etc) will be able to use.  From my understanding, it has not been submitted to the FDA for review and test categorization.
