To my GEM5000/GEM4000 users, as we transition to Beaker, we will be adding some mnemonics when certain exception flags are triggered. How does your LIS handle Exception flags? Our analyst needs to see the messages that comes across but having a hard time being able to trigger certain flags such as: Sulfhemoglobin Interference Detected, High Turbidity Detected , Interference Detected , High Methemoglobin Warning , Sulfhemoglobin and High Methemoglobin Warning .

Feel free to email POCT@luriechildrens.org

Thank you,
Sonia

Hi Sonia - Respiratory therapists are instructed on the different flags, what is ok to accept and what to reject.  They do this on the GEM screen.  If they accept a gas with a flag that should not be posted to a chart, then it stops in our Telcor interface.  POC Lab reviews it there.  Chart attached for that.  Our LIS team has the different flags setup in Telcor. If you have Telcor and need some screenshots, let me know.  Miranda.Cotter@mercy.net.
