UA Controls- Clinitek and Urine Pregnancy

Currently we use the Quantimetrix Dropper Plus controls on both our Clinitek Status Connect + instrument and manual pregnancy kits.
I am having a couple of my clinics have issues with level 2 not passing . I came out and retested (failed for me too),tried the controls on a new bottle of strips (passed) and then tried other controls that I brought on the original bottle (failed). So I called technical support and they said that those dropper controls are not recommended/supported by Siemens since they are unstable. I am now seeing that in my clinics where sometime they work and sometimes they will not.
What do you use for UA controls for your Clinitek and can they be used on a manual pregnancy kit or do you use a seperate QC for that?

we use Bio Rad qUAntify Advance .  It has a dropped for dipstick application, and can be used across many different vendors

We use Kenlor Semi Quantitative Dipstick Liquid Urine Control. The storage is refrigerated and the expiration date does not change once opened. Manufacturers date is 2 years. We use this for our Clinitek Status Plus, Manual Read strips and Urine pregnancy  kits.

We use the Quantimetrix Dipper controls for our Clinitek Status Plus and urine pregnancy kits. https://quantimetrix.com/product/dipper-urinalysis-dipstick-control/

We use BioRad for Clinitek.

Use “quantify Advance Control” by BIORAD

We use qUAntify Plus Controls by BioRad for our Clinitek. It can be used for pregnancy as well. Has worked well so far!

We also use the Kenlor QC for UA, same reasons as Erika mentioned. We don't perform hcg testing on the Clinitek.

We use thermo scientific MAS UA 1 and 2 for clinitek and urine pregnancy

We use Quanitmetrix Dipper for Clinitek and manual pregnancy. Had the same issue as you with the Quantimetrix Dropper.

We use Quantimetrix Dipper for the Clinitek UA dips and dropper for the Clinitek Upregs. I would use the dipper for the Clinitek upreg if the pipet would fit in the packet opening. We also use the Quantimetrix dropper for our manual upreg locations. I like the room temperature shelf life of the dipper (3 months). It also allows the regulatory requirement of testing the controls like you test the patient.

We had the same problem with our MAS UA level 2 control as well. We recently switched to the Cardinal UA controls (dropper) and still sometimes have the same issue. Clinitest hCG kits do not like dark urine controls. We switched our procedure to only apply 3 drops when performing QC Abnormal control. We have 30+ offices that run Urine Dipsticks/Pregnancy which makes the dropper easier to use technique wise over a dipper for our staff.

We use Quantimetrix Dropper for UA and pregnancy and have no issues.

Hi
We've used Quantimetrix Dropper Plus controls for over 8 years will no problems.  We have Clinitek Status Plus analyzers and Sure-Vue Urine pregnancy kits.
Really like the open stability of this control :)

Thank you everyone for all the responses!
I have used these controls since 2017 and am just now having these issues with level 2 (specifically the blood pad) being very inconsistent and not passing.

Most likely I will need to switch to dippers for this reason. I have clinics that are now getting nervous to run controls every month due to this and that is not good. I have run them myself and seen this same issue so it's not just a isolated incident.

We had issues with Quantimetrix on our Clinitek also and had to switch.  We use Cardinal Health brand now for UA. In their catalog, it is Cardinal material # CH1440-01 with manuf #89209.
For Clinitek Pregnancy, we use Quantimetrix dippers manufactuer #'s 1400-02 or 1400-01 depending on how many you need in a box.
