Rapid HIV Testing

I have some clinics that have asked about Rapid HIV testing.  Do any of you oversee this type of testing in clinic or other sites?  If so, what test kits are you using?  Pros and cons?  Any information is very much appreciated!

We brought on the Oraquick Rapid Ab HIV 1/2 last year. Our Mobile Health Unit wanted to do "ALOT" of HIV testing (Oraquick is kind of pricey) ... and now gets them from the state and currently has that HIV test on their own CLIA.

We’ve been using Abbott Determine HIV-1/2 Ag/Ab combo assay since 2015.
Con- Waived for WB  (fingerstick) only.
Pros:
1. Can be used for serum/plasma (moderate complexity) and finger stick (waived).
2. Easy 2 step test procedure for Fingerstick blood and one step for serum or plasma and 15 minutes to result.
3. Fourth generation HIV assay. Tests for HIV antigen and antibody
4. Verified 100% sensitivity and specificity in our comparison experiment.

Abbott makes a Determine Early Detect combo assay.  It detects more acute infections. I don’t know much about it. See link below for catalog of Abbotts Determine tests options.
