Entering unsolicited POC results in EPIC

For those who have EPIC, how are unsolicited POC tests resulted? We are currently in the transition to EPIC.
With unsolicited there wouldn't be a specimen # since the test would not have been ordered.
We will only have 4 tests that need to be manually entered into EPIC: PT/INR, Fern, wet mount, and urine drug screens.
Any words of wisdom are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Unsolicited POC tests are autoverified in EPIC and exceptions get caught in the middleware (ADT mismatches, error flags, etc.).
Hi Deborah - from the wording of your question, you are referring to manual entry, correct - not an unsolicited result coming through a device and middleware? We are at a similar point of transition to EPIC at our health system (point being, I am not an expert yet :)), but thus far it is my impression that the only way an unsolicited POC test can be manually entered (not uploaded through a device and middleware) is via the Enter/Edit function in EPIC.
James Beck's response is correct, they have to be manually entered via Enter/Edit in Epic. For unsolicited interfaced tests, a POC Request is placed in Epic, once the patient chart label is scanned, the test is ran and then it crosses over into the EMR barring no errors in the test result. Hope this helps!
