I have an employee that wants to get color blind correcting glasses for seeing red/green. We currently prevent test if your color blind but does anyone have suggestions about this situation? I don't know how the glasses work or how reliable they are.

We have a built in test for color blindness in our training.  If you can pass the test, you can be qualified to be testing.  I would reach out to your HR partners to discuss as there may be something they need to be aware of for ADA or other accommodations being reasonable.

Our institution has gone away from calling the test a "Color Blind" test. We've used the language in the Cap requirement GEN55400 Visual Color Discrimination.

Maybe check if their glasses are FDA cleared? It would make life slightly easier if they were.
We use the Ishihara Test as an initial screening tool where > 12 correct answers indicate normal color vision. There should be an improvement from their initial score with those glasses. But still, better check with HR since color-blindness fits the ADA's definition as a disability.
