QC Entry/Configuration in Telcor

Hi all,
I'm fairly new to Telcor and seem to be getting my way around most things. However, QC is another story. How do you know when you need to build a QC Test vs just add QC Material? I see some of our QC Tests are built with multiple lots attached to them and others are not. We use a variety of devices: Epoc, GH100, Afinion, CT Status+, Nova Statstrip, ID Now. Just looking to find some procedure/steps that make sense.
Thank you!

I am new-ish to Telcor as well, but did recently work through troubleshooting the QC Material vs. QC Test trying to get my proficiency results to file.
First the QC test is set-up, this where you tell telcor what analyte is running, create a profile naming convention and material type essentially.
Next comes the QC material, this portion would have the lot number and level documented. Now we assign the newly created QC Material the QC Test that it is used for under "QC Test Profiles" section, which is pulling in the QC Test build, that is how the lots become connected to the QC Test.
Essentially, your QC Tests should remain pretty stable and not need touching or editing unless your testing menu changes. It is the QC Material that will be added to and maintained more closely as new QC lots come in for use.
In your Telcor, it sounds like you have QC tests built that do not have QC materials using those tests. Maybe some of the QC tests were built for the past and could be retired if not in use.
Hope that is a tiny bit helpful!

For those devices where QC virtually never changes it makes sense where you can just continue to add new lots of QC to one test. But what about ACT or Blood Gas where those QC ranges can change with new lots. Do you still build them under the same test?
