POCT COAGULATION TESTS QC INTERVAL FOR ISTAT PT PLUS AND ACT

What interval is your lab performing QC for PT Plus and ACT iSTAT Cartridges? I was reviewing our POCT CAP checklist and it states, "Quantitative tests - two controls at different concentrations at least daily, except for coagulation tests (two controls every eight hours), or unless otherwise required elsewhere in this checklist."
We are a small hospital, and we do not even have any other lab employees besides me that work with POCT and would be able to do this on every shift. Are the internal controls that the iSTAT performs enough to satisfy this CAP requirement if established within the IQCP?
What is your lab doing in regard to this CAP requirement?

TIA!!!

CAP checklist question POC.07300 in the 12.26.2024 version, indicates the following:   If an internal quality control process (eg, electronic/procedural/built-in) is used instead of an external control material to meet daily quality control requirements, the laboratory must have an individualized quality control plan (IQCP) approved by the laboratory director defining the control process, including the frequency and use of external and internal controls. At a minimum, external control materials must be analyzed with new lots and shipments of reagents or more frequently if indicated in the manufacturer's instructions.

The ACT IQCP approved by the Medical Director where I work requires two levels of external quality control monthly or whenever the performance of the i-STAT is questionable, monthly external simulation testing and internal simulation testing with each patient test.  External controls are also analyzed upon receipt of new lots and shipments of reagents.

We also have an IQCP for the iSTAT PT-Plus. We run liquid QC on new lots/shipments, and then monthly per the IQCP.

We do the exact same process that Nancy described above for our ISTAT ACT testing.  We don't have PT on our ISTATs.

Thank you, do any of you also have recommendations for what your lab is doing for linearities for these cartridges? I know the manufacturer doesn't seem to have any recommendations, but I don't want to miss anything if CAP requires it to be done.
I appreciate the help! I am new to POCT (volun-told kind of thing), and I was not left with very many resources, and procedures that I am slowly re-writing because the ones we have are a joke!

Abbott has a Heparin Linearity process in their manual that can be used. I perform this on new ISTATs we purchase, but since it is a clot based test, it is not required to perform every 6 months.  I don't know about PTPlus testing.

We are same process as Nancy as well.
