TEG 6S QC

I think I need some help from some established TEG 6s systems. How often are you running QC on your cartridges?  Do you have an amazing form or process to track this...and would you be willing to share???

We just went live with 4 TEG 6s devices running all 4 cartridges in October.  We're running QC monthly, new lot, and new shipment.  It's only been 2 months and its already hard for lab staff to keep track of which lots/shipments need QC.  Help?

I have a form (actually 3) that I would be willing to share.  I don't have one for Platelet Mapping.  Provide your email.

Thank you!  danielle.ennis@asante.org

Joseph, would you mind sending me your logs too please? Implementing these mid 2026. christin.maurer@providence.org

Thank you!

We have 9 TEG S at our facility that we use for POC only.    We track our QC through the TEG Manager which provides dates and lot numbers.

Thanks, Dan

Daniel, how often are staff running QC?  Just new lot/new shipment?

Im still working on implementing this, however, I have connected with many other POCC's that use TEG 6S. Majority of them perform new lot/shipment. That is what we will be using for our QC frequency as well.

We have 3 TEGs in our CVOR that Perfusion uses.  They only have the TEG HN cartridge.  Our IQCP has them performing QC on current lot against the new lot received or monthly if no new lot is received.  We are CAP, so this is to meet COM.30450.  1 TEG is the designated reference and all new lots are run on that device.  The current lot can be run on one of the other 2 devices but it has to be at the same time/same day for the comparison. The 3rd device can be QC'd with the current lot at that time or on a different day.
For those that are just running new lots only before use, how are you getting around COM.30450?

My understanding is that running the external QC on the new lot/shipment satisfies the "suitable reference material" (against previous reagent lots or with suitable reference material), because it is "provided by the method manufacturer with method specific and reagent lot specific target values".

We have 1 TEG 6s located in our main lab. We run the PM and GH cartridges for our surgery open heart team. Our IQCP states to run monthly, new lot and/or shipment. We run new lot and current lot back to back to cover COM.30450. I have a form if you need one. As far as forms to keep track of the different lots that are or aren't QC'd- we just used stickers purchased that says "New LOT needs QC"  or "Ready for Use".
