i-STAT CLEW Upgrade question

i-STAT technical support hasn't been very helpful lately, so I'm hoping those of you with hands-on experience can share your insights.
We are preparing to update our CLEW on both the iSTAT and iSTAT/DE through Telcor QML, and I have a couple of questions regarding the best approach:
- Do all i-STATs need to be updated on the same day, or is it acceptable to do this over the course of a couple days, where some analyzers are on the new CLEW version and others are still running the previous version?
- Is it better to update all of the i-STAT analyzers first and then update i-STAT/DE, or should i-STAT/DE be updated first? Does the order matter?
- Can i-STAT/DE be updated to support the new CLEW version without affecting analyzers that have not yet received the updated CLEW?
We're trying to determine the most efficient rollout strategy while avoiding any issues between the analyzers, i-STAT/DE, and Telcor QML.
Thanks in advance for sharing your experience and any lessons learned during your CLEW updates.

I agree with Michael. We download the files first and update an istat using a desktop before going around to do head to head. Aside from the exp date, you need to make sure that you're updating them before the next QC is due. If you've updated all the files on DE, then your iSTATs will require the update before they can do QC. Otherwise you will not be able to scan the QC vials.
If you're using the "Pass" "Fail" feature with the QC:
You will have to update the QC EVAS file for the new CLEW *after* you have updated the CLEW on the meters. The iSTAT meters that have the new CLEW will not recognize the QC when attempting to run QC give APOC errors until this is done. This can be by-passed by selecting the NON-APOC option when running the QC but will then force the user to select the Pass/Fail option manually.
So, if you can't update all your meters for the CLEW at roughly the same time and then immediately update the QC EVAS file in DE and dock the iSTAT to pick this up, staff running QC will need to be aware of the above.
My bio-med completes this Clew update and typically takes a week or more do complete this. This issue comes up.
