When looking at GEM IQM3, the manual states that there are 5 different solution materials that monitor the quality of the system. However, my colleague and I noticed that the pO2 monitoring only goes to 181 mmHg. So my question for GEM users is how are you confident the GEM is quality controlling the AMR in the +200mmHg range? How do you show this to inspectors? image.png
We perform AMR verifications every 6 months using Werfen PVP as well as the CAP survey SOQ (for coox). Like any other analyzer, I don't think there is an expectation to verify the AMR more often, so I don't think it is an issue with inspectors. With regards to routine QC, I think the question would be if it is verifying function near clinical decision points so you might compare it to your reference and critical ranges.
