Glucose Tolerance

Does anyone have any literature or know where I can find some regarding how to proceed with a glucose tolerance when the patients fasting glucose is critical low? I vaguely remember something about if it is too low you are not supposed to continue with the testing, but I can't remember the exact reason or where it was at.
