Urysis 1100 Interface

Hi,
Are any of you using Urysis 1100 for UA testing that is interfaced? The device itself is not capable of having the end user enter the color and appearance of the urine. I need inputs as to how you are able to include the color and clarity via interface?
Thanks!

Not familiar with Urysis, but my best guess is if it's not coming from the device itself, I don't know how you would add it to the input going to your middleware interface. We use Telcor as middleware and am guessing most are pretty similar, in that they can only accept result fields directly from the POC device. Otherwise your end users would have to access to middleware, which would be obviously cumbersome.
Just an FYI (in case it might help your decision process here), we discontinued reporting color and clarity on UA probably close to 30 years ago. Reason being, it was believed to be misleading information because physicians may simply assume that if a urine is reported as anything but clear, they just assume it is infected. The hematology team at the time felt it did more harm than good. We've never had a request to add it back.
