We are going to be adding moderately complex testing in our radiology department. I'm trying to collect the rad tech's diplomas and am running into issues where some were trained 40 years ago and their schools no longer exist.

CAP GEN.554400 states that licensing for radiology, nursing and respiratory cannot be used for educational requirements.

How are others handling this?  Thanks.

Does anyone use the service? If so, I need info for the very same reason. I have techs that have been in the workplace for awhile as well.

I've been told through CAP that all State Education Departments hold permanent records of education.  So if an institution no longer exists, the records from the institution exist at the State Education office.

Check with your HR.  Most do the license verification.  For education verification, there are services like Assurance that provides it.

Yes - we had similar issues, and were very glad to see the PSV being allowed as of last year.

I can't help but relay my experience at our last CAP inspection in November. I did not have any deficiency but one for personnel diploma/transcript. I have 3 diplomas and 3 PSV for my 6 staff who do the moderately complex tests.

PSV was not good enough. I called CAP and was told that need evidence of what was verified.

We provided the BREEZE CA.gov from Department of Consumer Affairs. BTW, our inspection team got dinged as well for the same thing and I asked what corrective action they took and they said their HR is still working on it.

Our HR go on-line (Department of Consumer Affairs) for the staff's license but license is not good enough.

In California, you need to submit your transcript direct from the school before you can take the exam.

We are still our challenging our deficiency.
