Epic & Enter/Edit Results

Does anyone use Epic to enter POCT results using the Enter/Edit Results function?  I am looking for a way to use the less than/greater than symbols along with a numeric result and have the result flag as abnormal/critical.  Evidently this function works differently and cannot accept the < and >, even though the component is built to include it with the numeric result when needed.  I’m hoping someone has a workaround without using a mile-long category list for every possible numeric result.

Thanks!

Epic really needs to enhance this functionality.  We have submitted an enhancement request but it didn't get voted very high last I looked.  Your IT staff could look for it and say that you are also interested.  It's under Bronson Healthcare group.
