I have had inquires on this as well. In my research there are a number of companies that sell this test but it states for forensic use only. The companies out there will sell you this test.
The definition I have for forensic use only states: "devices are intended for use only in drugs of abuse testing for law enforcement purposes. Appropriate users of such devices include for example court systems, police departments, probation/parole offices, juvenile detention centers, prisons, jails, correction centers and other similar law enforcement entities or labs or other establishments performing forensic testing for those entities. They are not designed, tested or labeled for use in other settings such as clinical diagnostic or workplace settings. "
The test is not CLIA waived.
I am not sure if the VA is different regarding these restrictions.

Jeanne, thank you for the information.
ABMC (American Bio Medica) and Alpha Scientific have said that they are pending CLIA waiver for fentanyl.
I suspect that if it can get a waiver, it will be fly off the shelf. $$$$

Interesting article for those who may not have to follow lab regs......
