Do any of you offer screenings in your communities? If you do, what screenings do you provide? Do you perform the screenings onsite, or is a specimen collected and sent to the laboratory for testing? Do you charge for your screenings?

We offer fingerstick glucose/cholesterol checks at our hospital's annual wellness fair. We use the Cardiochek analyzer. It is fairly versatile as you can use different strips depending on which tests you want to perform. They offer just glucose, glucose/cholesterol, and even a lipid panel test strip. We do not charge for the tests. We also participate in a program in conjunction with our local community college's nursing program. The students hold wellness clinics at various Senior Center's etc. and perform this same test with the supplies being provided by the hospital. These are free of charge as well.
