Using Microalbumin 9 Dipsticks in Diabetes Clinics

A quick query from Ireland!

Are many people using Microalbumin dipsticks instead of a Laboratory method for screening Diabetics at risk for Chronic Kidney Disease?Has anyone compared the dipstick with the Laboratory method? What type of sample do you use-spot/24hour urine?

I am currently reviewing our methodology which involves referring our urine samples to an External Laboratory.  I am currently gathering data to compare the DCA Vantage (Point of Care),Clinitek Microalbumin 9(Point of Care)&  the Abbott Architect . Does anyone have thoughts on the use of a Point of Cate test alone?

Looking forward to hearing from you
