Hemochron APTT

Good morning,
I am wondering if anyone uses the Hemochron for APTT? If so how does it compare with the laboratory's coagulation instrument? What allowable total error do you use when comparing the instruments?
Thanks, Amanda Coleman

We attempted to implement the PTT on Hemochron sig elite, using citrated tubes, and the results were all over the place. The INR on the PT was within acceptability (10%) so we implemented only the INR. We compared to the ACL Top. Ivy
Thanks Ivy for responding. We are experiencing the same issues with the PTT not correlating well with the labs ACL TOP. Did you use 10% acceptability with PTT as well?
Thanks, Amanda
Our Hemochron rep told me that the PT correlates fairly well but the PTT could be off as much as 20 seconds to our Stago. We would use this for our stroke protocol in the EMR. So if we continue we will not perform PTT only PT.
