Physicians Changing the Name of Lab Test Using EPIC User Preference Function

Hi All,

IS this happening to your site where physicians are using the EPIC User Preference function and are changing the name of our lab test to something more convenient for them to remember?

Instead of "POCT Blood Gas", we get "Blood Gas q6 Hours" for the same procedural code.  I sent a request to SIG for a statue that prevents this change and I am awaiting their response.

I remember I had to deal with this when EPIC wanted to have all the Hemoglobin A1c be described in EPIC as such, even though some labs were still displaying this test as Glycated Hgb.  I tried to inform them that the lab needs to change the name, not EPIC, to be compliant.

Or am I wrong?

Thanks,
