Great question! I would be interested in what review/study materials also that would be helpful.
Thank you :)
I took the Point of Care Specialist Certificate Program 2017 offered by AACC. I had to join the AACC and pay for the online training (I think it cost like $250). The areas covered included:
As a newer POC Specialist I found the information to be very beneficial and still use the materials as a reference. The AACC also just came out with a Point-of-Care testing Professional Certification (CPP). The first group has to be registered by September 30th. I would be curious to see if anyone gets in the first class and what they think of it.
I also took the POCS Cert Program last year- great program and found the topics to be very useful! I am interested in study info for POC-C (CPP) or start a study group!
I will be applying to sit for the Point-of-Care testing Professional Certification (CPP) exam this for this November and think a study group would be a great idea!
I also completed the AACC Point of Care Specialist Certificate Program (2016). AACC membership is very beneficial. They actually do cover point of care topics. It was less expensive to join and then sign up for the program vs. just signing up for the program (at least in 2016). I have continued my membership.
I know I am not ready to sit for the CPP. I refer too much to the literature and it does not sound like this is "open book".
Ok Melissa Perez, where should be meet to do a study group - what's halfway between Houston and McAllen (I think that is the closest airport to you?). My resource contribution is my copy of Tietz - Foundations of Clin Chem (principles)!
Maybe someone with web-ex can form a study group and invite those of us who don't have that luxury available through work? Who has TIME to organize a study group? (none of us probably)
It sure would be more of an incentive to prep if we knew our peers were counting on us to 'show up and deliver the goods'!
Hope every one has a terrific weekend, happy Friday! Peggy
Hi Peggy- count me in- The resource contributions will be great to out in a shared drive?

I would be very interested in this, also! Sherri
Dear All,
Does anyone have a TEG 6s which they are using and correlated with a TEG 5000 already in use in the lab? We purchased a TEG 6s and got delivery in April of this
year. Still working on validations and met some difficulty correlating with the TEG 5000 used in the laboratory. Any advice, comments, guidance would be hugely appreciated. Please email directly at

Thank you so much for your time!

I can organize a study group via WebEx. Please email me with your name, email and availability. We can do this Together! :)
