Hello All,
- iSTAT normal ranges in the analyzers need to match what we have in our LIS to be consistent. Where there are Male vs Female and age specific normal ranges, what are you doing? The iSTAT instrumentation has a one line space for normal ranges and HCT for example has so many age/gender specific normal ranges?
- Also, what are you doing about the PCO2 interference calculation for CREA?? On previous CTIs, PCO2 was an interferent but now there is a calculation for corrected CREA >2.0 mg/dL. I asked customer service and they stated that it is the customers responsibility to calculate...
Any thoughts on one or both of the subjects above would be appreciated.

We took all of the ranges out of the ISTAT. If there are male or female ranges, they will be apparent in the computer. Our docs look at everything in the computer post download.

CAP made us report on the printout normal ranges so we use a basic adult ranges for most areas and NICU gets the <1 month ranges. HCT covers low on female to high on male. As Deanna stated the computer will show the docs everything down to the age/gender specifics. Ivy Douglas
If you remove the normal/reference ranges from the ISTAT (since they are not gender specific) how do you handle downtimes?
