Istat repeat samples

When we have questionable results from the first specimen and then they repeat the testing with a new collection, both results go through telcor and are resulted in EPIC.  How are other facilities handling this?

I no longer work with Telcor, but I remember it being fairly customizable. You should be able to set up a rule were you hold results for a designated time period, and if no duplicate results come through it will auto send to EPIC. I know it has the functionality to do this with glucose results, so I would assume the same could be done for iSTAT. Alternatively you could create more strict holding flags for results, but this tends to result in an increase of result delays on critically ill patients (e.g. high K, high Lact, high glucose).
