Is anyone who uses the Quick Vue one step combo test seeing patient urines that fail to produce any results (test control line) with the test cassette? We have had a few more than I am finding acceptable. It is not technique, controls always work. Any Info would be appreciated, thank you!

I did just talk to customer service and they will send me bulletin - biotin can interfere.
Of course.
We had a couple patients that were on biotin (vitamins for hair and nails). In unscientific terms, it masks the control line.

We had this issue repeatedly a couple years ago and were never able to determine the cause. We have switched to hCG Combo Rapid Test kit, Cardinal Health cat # B1077-23 and have been very happy with no QC issues.

There is a new rapid whole blood hCG Test that that detects pregnancy much earlier than urine. The test is not susceptible to beta core fragments, the hook effect, or biotin like urine tests are. It's called the ADEXUSDx hCG Test by NOWDiagnostics. Please feel free to email me if interested or have questions.
