Daily Review of Patient Results

We have our QML setup to hold patient result outliers and review them Monday so it is not performed every day. Just looking to get some opinions and current practice for anyone inspected by Joint Commission. QSA 02.11.01 EP3 is the standard in question. Thank you.

I do not know what the Joint commission reg's state, but what I do and its in our SOP's is, The review of Point of Care results will be done daily by the POCC or designee, if they are not able then at the soonest possible time it will be done. Since I am the only one and have no help it gets done when ever I am present at work.

If you are in a system perhaps you can get someone else at another hospital to hold down the fort when you are way. Otherwise - I would discuss this with your one up and document the conversation.
Our policy says, we check results/ reports ( QML) DAILY.
This policy was from our CAP days. We just got on board with TJC last year.
But we continue the practice. I think it is just good practice to check them daily.
We look at Telcor QML daily to make sure that results are reported ASAP.
Checking them weekly is a long time for results reporting.
When I am on vacation/ weekends, I have a tech who helps me and she checks them.
We check daily except on weekends, this helps to find ID error and Critical value documentation failure and start corrective action

Hello everyone!
Do the floors call you when there is a problem with results not going over into the EMR? How often does that happen or do they call you when they can't even get into the analyzer because you have restrictions on your analyzers?
We are going to add Telcor to our POC Abbott IDNOW's so I'd like to get a feel of what I'm about to experience.
Thanks,
