iSTAT Tote

Can anyone recommend a suitable carry tote for iSTAT and supplies?  Always surprised that Abbott doesn't make one.

My staff dropped (and killed) their second iSTAT in as many weeks and I'm hoping a tote to protect it might help.

Thanks!

A fish tackle box is ideal for keeping your i-STAT safe.

Pick one that is not too big.

They also have compartments to keep your phlebotomy supplies.

Great Question!

We use a deep  "Basket / Tote" (plastic - purchase at any hardware type store) and they usually have 4 departments for holding other iSTAT supplies (cartridges, TT, Gauze, etc.)

I would recommend getting the one that is deep pocketed and sturdy.  They are reasonably priced and come in various sizes.

We use an insulated zip-up lunch bag/ tote. It works great and had room for the cartridges too.

That's a good idea Pet, and a few years back I think that's what I had until it broke (it was something I found on a back shelf in the lab, but I think it really was a tackle box).

The ED staff teased about it for years saying "fetch me the tackle box" Laughing
