CGM

Is anyone in a facility that uses CGM for glucose monitoring?
If so, how is the data viewed and recorded?
Do they allow the patient to use their own CGM?
Which CGM or CGM’s do you use/allow?
How do you educate your nurses regarding lag time in readings (CGM is around 15 mins behind venous readings, because it measures interstitial fluid).
Would you be willing to share your Policy & Procedure regarding CGMs?
Thanks!

Hi Jessica,
I've checked into this recently at my institution and there is no clinical policy/practice which allows for the CGM inhouse.
In one ambulatory setting, a diabetes clinic, there is monitoring (of the patient monitoring) by clinic staff but 'patient results' are reported directly to the MD. Very limited documentation into the EMR since it is considered 'patient reported' with patient-owned 'instrument'. I'm not even sure what coding for fees is allowable.
