Plasma testing on i-STAT for CG4+

We are looking to validate plasma instead of whole blood on our I-STAT for lactate testing. We already are validated for whole blood. How involved would it be for us to do this? Has anyone else done this?

I would appreciate any help with this.

Thanks! Sherri

Abbott states that lactate testing needs to be performed immediately. I know from experience the longer the delay in testing, the higher the lactate level becomes. Icing the sample is also not acceptable for ISTAT testing. This would definitely be classified high complexity.
