Good morning
Do you know how many QC samples and how many days do I need to run for IQCP? Is there a special requirement or checklist? We are CAP accredited.
Thank you
Ewa

You need at least a month's worth of QC data to prove that runninh QC once per month is sufficient. CAP would recommend 3 to 6 months I believe.

Yes, CAP does have something in the notes section of COM.50300 that states that the QC data needs to cover the length of time that you plan to have between QC performance. So, monthly QC, have to do 30-35 days. If you have historical data for LQC under that CAP, you can use that. I was not able to find anything in any CMS/CLIA document that stated that. They leave it up to the lab director. However, if you're CAP, you have to do the CAP requirement.
