I give a presentation on our Ambulatory Orientation day for my organization and want to update it for 2020.

Just a little background- our clinics only perform waived testing and we are not accredited.

The topics I covered in my 2019 PP were:

  1. CLIA licenses

  2. Approved POCT in clinics

  3. Training- Initial and Annual

  4. Package inserts

  5. Quality Control

  6. Supply labeling/dating

  7. QC/Patient Logs

  8. Health and Safety

  9. POCT testing areas

  10. Temperature and humidity monitoring

Is there anything else you would highlight?

Thanks

That looks great. Would you consider record keeping and resulting?

Do you write procedures for each test, or do the ambulatory clinics only have the package inserts?

Yes I will add in Record Keeping and Resulting (Thank you!).

We do not have procedures but I have "Guidelines" for each test performed and I go over those.

Thank you for the feedback.

This response is back to Terry's post. Yes we have procedure written for all waived tests even if they are only performed in ambulatories. We have some of the graphics posted from the package insert (eg interpretations) or quick steps but operators are expected to read the SOP before they take the written test during training.
