If you use the HemoCue Hb (Waived) for Hemoglobin, do you test external controls each day of patient testing, monthly, or not at all? JCAHO

We test external controls with new lot# of reagents and then monthly.
We run it each day of patient testing. We then submit our end of month results to the QC manufacturer, Streck, and get a nice monthly statistics report.
We do Eurotrol QC each day of patient testing.
Speaking of Hemocue, is anyone using the new 801's?

We are TJC and for our HemoCue Hb we do QC each day of patient testing.
We do not. We follow manufacturer recommendations which does not require external liquid QC because the HemoCue performs a self-check internal equivalent QC with every patient test.

We run ours each day of patient testing.
Adonica - I've got one site using the new 801 and I will have 4 more sites changing from 201+ to 801 this month (hopefully). The longer time for open cuvettes is needed here for sure. So far I haven't heard any complaints. Let me know if you have any more specific questions I can try to answer.
