i-stat new QC lot verification

Hello,
I am a POCC in the job for just eight months and I'm wondering about I-STAT QC; what are you guys doing to verify each new lot number and each new shipment of Quality Control vials (we use Tri-control level 1 and 3) prior testing?
Do you establish a new mean? How many replicates you test?
Do you place a big order of the same lot # to reduce the number of verification's run?

Hi Maria,
For our new QC we only do 1 run to verify it matches the manufacturer VAS and we do not establish new ranges. We usually order QC as needed but around 10 boxes per order. If we know a unit has Istat competencies coming up we will order enough to cover the operators that will be doing their comps.
