I feel like this is a kind of dumb question, so sorry in advance if it is. iSTATs need to have internal or external simulator run at least every 24 hours (some every 8 hours depending on test cartridge used). I know how to run the external simulator and how to look back in records on the iSTAT to see that it was run. Is there a way to track the internal simulator? How do I know it has run in the past 8/24 hours? Do all of you just run the external simulator and record those results?
Thank you,
Jill

The Istat should be set up to run the internal sim every 8 hours. At least mine is. It may be something that need to be set up in the middleware. If the Istat fails on the internal sim it will not run at all. What middleware are you using? Mine are automatically ran and logged into my middleware RALS.
You don't have to run the external simulator unless the internal fails or for some error codes.
Ok - That is kind of what I thought. I don't have a dedicated POC middleware program - We use the DE with our Orchard LIS software. Unfortunately, this doesn't allow me to lock anyone out or see error codes. It also doesn't allow (or isn't set up for) operator IDs. I will make sure the internal sim is set for Q8h. Thank you for your help.
