Has anyone done any technical consulting on a part-time basis? I have a potential opportunity to work as a consultant on the side of my full time job for a physician with a CLIA lab and I wondered if CLIA provides any guidance in that area. I also want to make sure it's like any other part-time job and wouldn't be a conflict of interest with my current job since this physician is not on-staff at the hospital where I work. Has anyone had a similar situation?

I have been doing consulting work for years...
I work outside my work hours and not for a competing hospital.. so far, so good
