iSTAT Chem8+ White Papers

Good afternoon! I know a lot of Point of Care departments have moved away from the Chem8 cartridge, but for those of you who still use it, have you seen white papers to explain the bias that the iSTAT has to lab instruments (we use an AU5800)? The glucose, chloride and TCO2 have a slight bias that our medical director would like to see if there are any white papers addressing this. We are supposed to go live with the Chem8+ cartridge in our ED next week so I am trying to quickly find something. Thank you!

Try contacting your sales rep, Abbott has comparison data for a lot of chemistry analyzers. I had this problem with the Piccolo for several analytes but the reference ranges accounted for the bias and the Medical Director signed a statement that there is a known bias.
