Has anyone validated the OLO device for CBC? I just saw that Telcor now offers an interface for it, and wondered if it is worth looking into to replace our POCHi's. Besides, it is the most adorable analyzer I've ever seen in my life! I want one in my kitchen www.sightdx.com/us

Hi Silka,
This is the first POCT hematology analyzer that has peaked my interest. Keep us updated if you get this in for a demo or correlations.
Thanks,
Reine
Looks interesting. Looks like there's maybe a dilution/mixing step involved. Given that I still battle getting people to just mix a stupid blood gas sample before they test it, that part gives me pause, lol...
Do you know if it is CLIA waived?
It is moderate for now, but so is the POCHi
There is another device that will perform CBC with 5 part diff, using a cartridge. It is moderate complexity now, approved by the FDA, and I believe the company will try to get CLIA waiver at some point. It looks really easy to use. It's by PixCell, called HemoScreen.
We just got the OLO at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center . I will be validating it this week. Very excited!
Thanks all for posting about this analyzer! Looks like 'the black box' concept became a reality LOL (although Silva may have discovered it also comes in red and grey since she wants it for her kitchen!)
Looking forward to hearing from Pamala on their validation.
Like Kathleen, I saw the PixCell at AACC July 2019 expo. It may have been the first POC instrument I noticed with 'machine intelligence' attached to the advertisement. This is the 2nd one. Although sadly I'm not keeping up with moderate testing as I'd like to.
