Microalbumin at POC

I have had my first inquiry into microalbumin at POC. The Family Medicine Practices all have a Clinitek Status + and a DCA Vantage. Are any of you using either of these for microalbumin in the POC setting? Please share kernels of knowledge.
Many Thanks!

We don't run the test, but I know microalbumin on the DCA Vantage is moderate complexity. When I go over what moderate complexity will mean for users (initial training, 6 month competency, annual competency, possible change of status with CLIA (if they are only Waived Complexity now), having to have everyone's diploma on hand, inspection, etc...) they usually decide they don't need the test that badly.
Kudos for the 'intellectual approach' to Program Management, Jill!
:-)
We currently use the Clinitek Status+ for urinalysis and Microalbumin testing at one of the physician practices that I oversee. They use the Clinitek Microalbumin2 strips with the MultiStix strips. The only thing I struggle getting my people to remember is they MUST verify that the protein is NOT 30 or greater. If it is they cannot run the Microalbumin. So we have it written in our policy that a urinalysis must be ordered, ran and documented prior to running a Microalbumin. If the protein result from the UA is 30 or greater then the Microalbumin test is cancelled.
Really great info! Thank you so much!
I have a physician office that has the Clinitek Status+ and also uses the Clinitek Microalbumin Strips as well as the MULTISTIX. They have no issues. The only thing is the package
insert states you must verify the protein is not 30 or greater so we require a urinalysis to be ordered, performed and documented prior to the Microalbumin and if the Protein shows 30 or greater they must cancel the Microalbumin.

We use MICRAL strips. Seems to work great.
