We are looking at Sed Rate Analyzers for smaller clinic labs. I would like to hear what others use - Pros and Cons of your testing system.

We use the ESR Stat Plus Analyzer by HemaTechnologies. We really like it. It uses only 25ul of blood from a purple top. We are a pediatric hospital so we like that we can use a the same tube as a cbc. It gives you a result in 5 minutes.
On the down side the instrument is very sensitive to temperature. The room temp needs to be between 68 and 75 degrees F. We had problems in the beginning with specimens spinning out. But that was corrected by holding the capillary tube vertical for a few seconds before placing it in the analyzer.
We are very pleased with this instrument.
