What type of glucometer do you use in clinics?

What types of glucometers are used in your physicians' offices/clinics?

We oversee 35 physicians' offices/clinics that do not fall under our CAP cert. Several of these clinics use the type of glucometers that would typically be used at home (OneTouch, Contour). Upon reviewing the package insert, we noticed that they state they are for single use only, not to be used on multiple people. We wanted to see if anyone else uses these types of if they use the same types that are throughout their health system. We use Roche Accuchecks in house.

Hello Jennifer,
We have standardized the glucometer in use across our entire health system. The hospital meter that is in use at all 6 hospitals is the same that is in use at all ambulatory sites. (Nova StatStrip) We used to use the patient at-home meters in the ambulatory sites, but upgraded them to the hospital meters.

We use the True Metrix Pro. It looks like a personal meter but can be used on multiple patients. It also has no code chip.

We also use the Nova StatStrip meters both in our hospital and the clinics.

Anastasia, the insert for those also state " The TRUE METRIX Self Monitoring Blood Glucose System is intended to be used by a single person and not to be shared " and " The TRUE METRIX Self Monitoring Blood Glucose System is for one person use ONLY. DO NOT share your meter or lancing device with anyone, including family members. Do not use on multiple patients!! "

We use the True Metrix PRO- this is the professional meter

Thank you for clarifying- missed the "Pro" part! lol

StatStrip Xpress2 for outlying clinics.  Great system, and able to use on "critically ill" patients.

Accuchek Inform II

We use the Nova Statstrip in both the satellites and hospital.

We also use the True Metrix Pro. They've always given consistently accurate results. We have these in around 75 locations that are a mix of Primary Care, Urgent Care and Specialty clinics.

We use Nova StatStrip Express2 in our outpatient clinics.

We were using the Abbott Xtra but have recently switched to Nova StatStrip XpressII, mainly because of cost. Both meters met our expectations.

Hi
We use the NOVA StatStrip in the hospital and express care clinics.  Physician office practices use the Bayer Contour meter.  No coding required and can be used by healthcare professionals.

We have a mixture in our practices currently, however plan to get them all on Accuchek Inform II this year.

Our hospital uses Roche Accuchek Inform II and we used to use the Accuchek Performa in our clinics, however they have since d/c'd that meter. We switched to the Medline EvenCare Proview glucometer in our clinics.
