Thoughts/suggestions on how QC is handled for avoximeter1000E. One level weekly with a IQCP in place? Two levels with every testing event day? I am interested in what has been the most successful since it is non-laboratorians using this instrumentation.

I am referring to the liquid QC and not the two yellow and orange plastic cuvettes use daily to check instrument integrity.

My thought would be what does the manufacturer say?
The AVOX 4000 asks for two QC levels of liquid QC once per week.
We treat our 1000E in the same manner.

We currently run 2 levels of liquid QC weekly to check the integrity of the cuvettes. The POC operators in the Cath lab running the daily optical (yellow and orange) filters to check the integrity of the analyzer. Then you through in semi-annual linearity kits to ensure everything is running as it should.

Two levels once per week and a IQCP since nothing run on day of testing?
We are CAP lab.

We have an IQCP. 2 levels of liquid controls are tested weekly and filters are checked daily.

Correct! We are too.

Our CVL staff run 3 levels of liquid QC weekly and with each new lot of cuvettes, per our IQCP. They are very good about running it....no problems with compliance on their end.
After reading everyone else's comments I'm wondering if we should dial that back to 2 levels and save some money!

Our Cardiac Cath Lab staff run the optical filters daily (yellow and orange) and both levels of liquid QC once a week. We also have an IQCP in place for this instrument.

Low volume cath lab here so I have them do EQC (filters) and 2 levels liquid each day of patient use (mostly so they don't forget how to do it).  If volume picks up, I would adopt an IQCP and have them do the liquid weekly.

We run 3 levels of liquid QC on the first week of the month and then run level 2 weekly the other weeks of the month.

The Avoximeter 1000E Operator Manual states that quality control testing consists of the following operations:  daily optical quality control and weekly testing of one level of liquid controls.  We have this stated in our IQCP.

Lisa- no issues with CAP And one level? Can you share manual page?
Thank you.

No issues with CAP inspection last week.  Daily quality control (optical quality control) was deemed sufficient for meeting CAP requirement.  Avoximeter 1000E operator manual AP1001EN, dated 11/2018.  Quality control section begins on page 39.

Lisa- congrats with successful CAP inspection! Would you  be willing to share IQCP?

Hi, can you share your IQCP with us??

vivian.morales@nih.gov

Thanks!!!

Is anyone willing to share their IQCP and risk assessment for Avox 1000 and/or Avox 4000?
It would be greatly appreciated.
