iSTAT Glucose AMR validation to 700mg/dL

Is anyone aware of a third party material that can validate glucose up to (or close to) the reportable range of 700 on the iSTAT? Currently we are using the Tri-control cal ver set and the highest level is 567. A department is inquiring about widening our reportable range.
If you are using patient comparisons, how many would you use in such a validation study?
Thanks for any advice!

other ideas:
-What does the main lab do for validation of chem analyzers - perhaps you could use their product and compare with main lab at same time (I do realize the sample matrix whole blood to serum/plasma issue - but in my experience they usually work).
- You can also take some whole blood heparin tubes and spike with glucose - run on iSTAT and in main lab - in duplicate if desire. My glucose meter manuf. supplied me with spiking solution.
Hi Everyone:
While it is good to be able to report the result of Glucose up to 700mg/dL, but if that product is not available and you have something that can make it to 600mg/dL, I will take that. After all what is the difference between reporting >600 mg/dL or 700mg/dL in the management of the patient on hyperglycemia?
At what level of Glucose result will you initiate Hyperglycemia protocol in your organization? Will a result of 600mg/dL or >600mg/dL changes the management of your patient? How many patient will ever get a result of 700mg/dL or >600ng/dL in your organization? The interventions that the nursing protocol for Hyperglycemia will initiate probably will prevent your patient from getting a result of 700mg/dL if they are still alive at this level.
Sincerely,
Alma
